  CASA of Carson City is looking for men and women\, 21 years of age and ol
 der\, to volunteer and advocate for children that are currently in foster 
 care.\n\nCASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocate and we are a non
 profit organization that speaks up for children in child welfare cases. Ch
 ildren many times get lost in the process of child welfare. They need stro
 ng\, compassionate and dedicated adults to help assist them during their t
 ime in foster care.\n\nVolunteers will learn how to advocate for a child's
  medical needs\, engaging in school\, and listening to what that child wan
 ts. Volunteers will submit an independent report to the Juvenile Court for
  the Judge to evaluate the CASAs suggestions and recommendations as to the
  permanency plan for that child. CASAs are very much so the child's voice 
 in these proceedings.\n\nMany times\, CASAs are that one constant\, strong
 \, secure adult voice in that child's life. CASAs are able to engage with 
 their children in a variety of settings\, getting to know that child and t
 heir family.\n\nMake a difference today! Find out what it means to be a CA
